Swedish Postcode Foundation
In 2011, Rewilding Europe received a generous grant from the Swedish Postcode Foundation, for a set of actions during 2011–2013. In December 2015, another grant was received for a period from 2016 to 2018, allocated for the development of Lapland rewilding area in Sweden.

In 2013, through this generous funding we started up our breeding and reintroduction work in order to bring European bison and other animal species to a number of rewilding areas in Europe. The funding was also used to create and launch the “European Wildlife Bank”, and to support the very well-visited large outdoor exhibition that was held in Stockholm during summer and fall in 2013, where Rewilding Europe and the Swedish Postcode Foundation were the main partners.
In December 2015, Rewilding Europe received another generous grant from the Swedish Postcode Foundation for a period of three years (2016–2018). This grant is allocated for the development and activities of Rewilding Lapland Foundation, with direct outputs in the field. Rewilding Europe is very grateful for this initial funding which makes it possible to set up the foundation, establish a team working in the area and start the first pilots with local partners.
The Swedish Postcode Foundation’s vision is to contribute to a better world for people, animals and nature. Their project support is distributed towards two main thematic areas: people’s living conditions and the environment. The projects contribute to poverty reduction, peace building, human rights, climate, conservation or sustainable energy.
The Swedish Postcode Foundation receives it revenues from selling lottery tickets and donates the surplus to charity. More then one million subscribers participate in the lottery.
